Archived 2003 cranks but won't start

My son is stuck in a small mountain town about 70 miles North of Boise, Idaho. The truck drove up there just fine. Tried to start it today and it cranks just fine, but will not fire. He is sure it has fuel. My 95 has the fuel solenoid, but of course this one doesn't and there is no fuel leaking. I am leaving at 0700 in the morning with my trailer to haul it back. Any ideas on what might cause this? I will drive right past the Cummings dealer on my way, so any ideas on what to pick up and take with me would be great. Thanks for any suggestions. Tom/Idaho

Fuel filter , lift pump , then for the future search on this site for a set of gauges [ fuel pressure , exhaust temp ect ] to help find a problum as it starts .
Hopfully its simple .

Sounds like the lift pump. With common rail, it won't start when the lift pump fails.
