I have a 1977 ford crew cab 4x4 and converted it with a 2003 common rail alond with the dodge wiring harness trans and t case. I bought a whole truck with 60k on it. the truck was in a rollover and ran upside down for about 30 secs. I got the dodge running after changing the oil and checked the trans fluid ran it for a coule adays checked out ok so I tore it apart. Now its in the ford and everything on it is working well but I have a noise from the engine. Its loud especially when cold and seems to be from the front of the motor. I checked the valves with a dial indicator all are within specs but the noise remains any ideas would be appreciated. My next thought is to check my fuel pressure to the cp-3 but do I have t into it or is there a fitting already there for a guage?

thats a helluva a first post!

you can get a tapped banjo fitting that goes on the CP3 pump from Geno's garage

hope this helps, welcome to the site

I had the CP3 changed on my truck a while ago because it was making noise. The noise was sort of a knock or almost like a hammer hitting the block. It was hard to find the source of the noise. The technician working on the truck said that once he put the stethoscope on the pump he could really hear the noise. The noise was always there but the severity of the noise was intermittent. This may not be of much help to you but is one thing to check out.
