Started the truck this morning, it sounded a little rough... let the oil pressure get up, started to back out... died. restarted... died, now will not even attempt to start. Last night low around 20-25*,left un-plugged. Just got fuel yesterday evening with no additive and drove 5 miles home... no trouble. I changed the fuel filter, drained the bowl, and still nothing. Shouldn't I be able to cycle the ignition to fill the bowl? I tried to pressurize the tank while cycling... . no good. Could gelling prevent ANY FUEL AT ALL

from getting to the bowl? If so, what can I do besides adding PS911 to the tank now? Got a heater under the truck now @29* temp. Thanks for any advise, Paul

Had the same problem here in MI last night. Second time this has happened. once thawed out has been fine. didn't have much fuel in the tank though. 03 HO 6 speed

Back in biz

After 7 Hrs of worry, heat, sweat, tears, PM's, and a handful of Tums, my wife and I tried a last time before calling it a dealer job... so I hang the air hose in the filler, go to the front to watch the filter bowl while she bumps the starter... ... ... . HOLY SMOKES, WE HAVE FUEL!!!... Cap the filter, let it run a while, and test drive ..... never stuttered in the least on a WOT run. Can fuel be COMPLETELY gelled to the point of not getting a drop in the bowl, or my fear of a lift pump going south and just giving some temporary relief to one hella day? Thanks to ALL that I've PMed, phoned, and to the replies on the board..... Y'all are great:cool:

Sounds like some kind of fuel line blockage between the tank and the bowl. I highly doubt that it was gelling up at that temp. Could be algae in the tank (get some bioside for diesel) or a stopped up fuel filter (you should still get fuel to the input side of the filter). Could be a bad lift pump... but I would hope not on a new truck already.

Glad you got her started. Sorry I am not much help, but this will give you some ideas should it occur again.
