I have heard there is a limit to how much fuel you can put in a 3rd Gen truck. I heard that at a certain amount of fuel being put in the motor the injectors can not atomize the fuel which makes raw droplets. This created lots of smoke and less power (this is with TSTPMCR+some pressure box stacked and twins), then with the pressure box turned off the truck made more power and less smoke. I was told this was with stock injectors. The truck went from 400 some HP to over 500 HP, I was also told the limit of power on these trucks was somewere around the 500-600 HP range without drugs, but I happen to know there are some people on here with over 600 or 700 HP. I was wondering if this was the deal and weather or not the high power people were using just diesel and what ever else was done to the engine to get to the power level there at.

Also would F1 edms if out, would these injectors help the atomizing problem making more power possible?

High 500's seem to be about the end of the CP3 and rail. I've yet to hear of a common rail over that on #2. What you hear about the loosing power with high pressure on duration is true. I watched a truck on a dyno two days ago put down 3 diffrent numbers all around 430 hp on 3 diffrent EZ settings stacked on a TST. That was the end of it. Preliminary results indicate F1's edm's do address this problem.

Below is the graph I was reffering too. Runs were as follows:

1st run (418. 1/780. 1) is TST=4x2 EZ=0

2nd run (437. 2/779) is TST=4x2 EZ=4

3rd run (420. 4/728. 6) is TST=5x2 EZ=3

f1 edms are not available for the common rails as of yet.

From what it looks like the consensus is that 40-50hp honed injectors are yielding good results with the big hp boxes anymore and power goes down.

There was a big controversy either here or on DTR about a 3rd gen making 70x HP on fuel only. I dont know what happend to the thread.

I think it was at DTR because me and DonM went at it about Nathans truck making 694 on that thread, but Don said it was the type of dyno used.

I know that the word Banks Power isn't too well liked here but their sidewinder pickup had a common rail diesel in it and it made in the neighborhood of 735 hp, 1300 tq. Thats their claim.

I think the 70x HP on #2 only was a 24-valve, but I'm not for sure. Sorry about the double post.

I seen the pic of the truck, It was a 3rd gen! I went over to DTR but I couldnt find the post, It was a while ago so I think it got deleted.

I think it was 704 HP #2 if I remember right.

My fault. I remember reading the post and thought it was brought down to being confusion over it being a 24-valve or CR. I must have got them mixed up.

That was on a engine dyno and those #'s are at the crank not at the rear wheels.

Actually that was from a computer while they were driving the vehicle at 200+. Their engine dyno was like 700 or so but the computer model while in action was more like 735.
