Can any one tell me if the Mirrors on the 2003 trucks will fit 1999 trucks? I would like to instill a set. They work real good for towing.

No, the arm that bolts to the door is a different shape and pattern.

Someone posted some time ago that they mated the power head to the 2000-2002 towing mirror arm/mount.

Send me a pm, I have some used ones that will fit your 1999, from a 2001 truck. 2000-2002 used a manual flip out towing mirror.

They will fit 1994-2002 BR series trucks.

The 03 mirror that you refer to, first appeared on the 02 DR series (1500 and light duty 2500 trucks), then it was transferred to the 03-04's.

Hope this helps.

Andy

Thanks,

Andy and Klenger.

The Instructions are great. All I need to do is get the little women to let buy the new mirrors.

My brother just received his 03 2500 4X4 HO and I love the new Mirrors. they work great, the little mirrors in the corners take out the blind spot with and with out towing. No vibration in or out.

I did the mod to 2003 heated elect tip out towing mirrors well over a year ago. It is very close to the best mod I have done yet. I tow a 22' Weekend Worrior, there are no high speed vib problems.

Is there any way you can take a picture of the mirrors on the truck and post the pic. or e mail to -- email address removed --

Thanks

I have read the swap and wondering what mirror base do i need. You need to have the base's from an 2nd gen. tow mirror equipped truck.

stg2500 Thanks for the pictures.

They really help.

How long did it take you?

Did you run into any big problems?

Where did you purchase your new mirrors? What was the cost?

Since I am very particular about new accesory installations it took almost an entire day. That also allows for a few beverage brakes.

The only problem that I ran into was keeping the springs compressed enough to reinstall the spring retainer. the solution was lots of patience and mechanics wire. I had the wire break a few times but just recompressed the spring and reinstalled the wire.

The best advice would be to have a second set of hands for assistance. I know it helped when installing the new mirrors on the truck.

I purchased the mirrors from a friend that works at a Dodge dealer. Can't remember the exact cost it's been awhile. I think a little over $500.

Let me know if you need any more info.
