where to buy a 4" hole saw

Insulation Sheathing

Anyone using a Reese fifth wheel hitch on their 2003? I currently have a Reese in my 2001 and have been calling different dealers in my area to install a rail kit in my 2003. So far, no one wants to do it in fear of causing damage to my truck, too labor intensive, or not enough experiece with the 2003. I would prefer not to buy another hitch, but I guess I will if I have to. Any input would be great. Thanks.

I had a Reese on my 98. I sold the hitdh and went with the PullRite Super 5th for my '03. It is no drill/weld and I like the design better.

I took my Reese 15k out of my '01 and installed it in my '03. Reese's website has instructions on the installation. All you need is a new hardware kit with two spacers for the rear bedrail stove bolts. It's a good idea to use new hardware anyhow. Mine cost $20. I have pics of the installation if you're interested. The frame is wider so the brackets are turned in instead of out like on the '01. With the box steel frame you have to fish the rib necked bolts into the holes. The new kit comes with a fish wire.

Check out the thread at the top of the 3rd gen forum.

03 & Reese

I am having the same problem. I just bought a new Reese 5th. wheel. The mounting kit part # 58186 is supposed to have the correct brackets but is on backorder. This kit requires some drilling so I am having 2nd. thoughts about using it. I called a hitch shop that say they have a bolt on kit that will work for the Reese. If any one has any ideas let us know. I hope I can make this work as I also got the Reese Goose plate as well. I was hoping that Reese would have come up with a better set of brackets. Oh well at least it keeps me thinking.

I spoke with the tech guy at Reese yesterday and he said they are using Dodge's recommendations on drilling the frame and it will not void the warranty. We'll see. He gave me the part numbers I would need since I am pulling the rail kit off of my current 01' to be used on my 03'.

Part# 58186 - rear brackets

Part# 58166 - 4" carriage bolts and tube spacer

The 4" carriage bolts and tube spacer are included with the current rail kit, however when I purchased my hitch, they were not included. I'm not sure when they started putting these parts in the kit. Well, it's good to know I need to order this stuff now, since they are on back order. I need to pull my 5'ver in three weeks. I also finally found a couple places willing to do the install that seem to have some experience.

Okie-Go,

Thanks for the input, however, I didn't find a number for cartright. Is his business under a different name?
