I was just a my local dealer where a friend works to pick up some way overpriced bolts for my lower control arms...

I noticed my friend working on a 2003 Cummins that would stall out as soon as it fired up...

Also overheard the service manager on the phone with the owner of the truck telling him that his mechanic had been working on the truck for over 6 hours trying to figure it out... and they are the second dealer to have tried to figure it out. .

So i thought i would post the question here and see if any member might have ideas,,,

It would be great to show up those geniuses,,,and show them that TDR member are more likely to know more about these trucks than what those mechanics learned with their little couple hour courses. .

Thanks

I would look at fuel as being the problem. Apparently, there is enough fuel to start the engine but, fuel starvation follows. Electrical problem would not allow the engine to start. Good luck!! Jim.

Sounds like it could be a security problem. Wrong key? VIN mismatch? Try the unlock button on keyfob or unlock driver's door with the key. Not sure of the history here, but stallling right away is a possible indication...

Yeah, sounds like a security thing. I had a problem like this on a car that turned out to be a busted battery post that would make contact intermittently.
