Greetings fellow oil burners,

Well I finally got to drive the new 03' 2500 and 3500 SRW Rams. Compared to my 95' WOW is it quiet:eek: ! Some casual observations... The automatic transmission still has a hard time dealing with the Diesel:( . I was hoping they would have made the transmission to be more receptive to the torque monster but it just ate up the power like it did on the 93' I test drove. One other thing that concerns me is the general lack of underhood space to add any large belt driven accessories like a large underhood air compressor. The truck handled like a dream:) firm but forgiving. When it gets up to operating temperature man does that fan kick in like it means it:eek:

The 3500 was a HO 6 speed and it was more responsive than the auto but my 95' would have run circles around it in low end power. Once you get above 1900RPM she will do rather well and the 6 speed is silky smooth and you can stir through 4 gears in traffic with little effort. A TST kit should fix the low end lackluster performance like it did on my 95'. cool:

My truck is awaiting shipment from Mexico and should be here (I hope) before the end of the month. I ordered an 03' 3500 SRW QC with the HO engine and worked the dealer over so bad that the final price was $500 below invoice:D

I'm without a ram for a little while now as my trusty 95' found a new home in NJ where it will be loved and cared for. The only thing that bothered me with that truck is the paint finish was fading on the bed by the wheels and I was getting tired of reaching across a state line to open the door or windows (ST trim);) Enough :{ for now.

Jeff
