Can anybody tell me or point to where I would find the GVWR, GCWR, Curb weight and max towing weights for the 2500 and 3500 srw, 2wd, 6speed manual.

Thanks Ken

My dealer gave me a 2003 2500/3500 spec sheet. They have everything but the prices. I can post the weights of various models tonight but they are alot of them since there are many combination.

Can't figure why some dealers have information and some don't. Personally, at this point in time, what I read on this site is what I'm running with. I really believe the TDR folks are more interested in what is happening with the trucks than the dealers are. I think the TDR should be deeply involved in designing, building, and selling.

The Preliminary Specifications posted by Animal on 19 June (this forum) are very good - lots of good info.

The piece of paper I have in my hands is from Dodge and it is the 2500 and 3500 Overview. If any of you guys need specific weight and other weight with the 8. 0 L engine or the Hemis let me know I'll try to help

Thanks Paesan

Trying to get info from a dealer is not easy. I don’t know whether they don’t care or just are not releasing the info to the sales people.

I'm looking at a 3500 QC shortbox srw to pull 11500# 5th wheel.

I think it will fill the need quite well. Now if they get an exhaust brake to fit I'll be happy.

Thanks Ken

what is the gvwr, of the 2003 3500 410 manuals? we dont care about the bragging #'s just what's on the door stamp. the larger this # is the less you can haul, in our business, without cdls, considering that every trailer we have , stamps out at over 10100 lbs. the battle to combine under 26001 gets harder and harder, and i'm afraid that dodge might have just shot us in the foot... :--)

The GVWR is

Regular Cab 2x2 Long Bed Diesel Engine 12000

Regular cab 4x4 Long Bed Diesel Engine 12500

Quad 2x2 Long 12000

Quad 4x4 long 12500

the lightest with your spec a Reg cab 2x2 weights 6284

the heaviest with your spec a quad cab long bed 4x4 is 7485

thanks, quad 2x2 long 12000. your average 5th wheel, flat deck with any length over 16 ft will have two 6000 lb axles. our gvwr on most of our 24 footers is between, 12800 and 13200, i dont know why the difference, in identicle trailers, [but that's another story] so the trick is going to be to "de-weight" your three axle and heavier axled trailers to still combine under 26001. until the dot catches on to this trick, most of us can still get by without having to get cdl's.

Towing and gross weight for automatics

Some of us have wives that need automatics,

Can you post the short bed 2500 and 3500 towings rate and GCVW for single rear wheels.

I hoping the new American Axle will allow us to get up to or above 10,000 for my new car hauler. maybe even a 12,000 pounds for a 2500.

Sorry for the late reply here are the spec you asked for

Short BED 2500 and 3500 single wheels in the back

2500 weight with 5. 9 HO quad cab 2WD 6102

3500 weight with 5. 9 HO quad cab 2WD 6529

Auto will be available in Feb and I would think that it will be heavier by a 100 lbs or so.

The GVWR is

2500 9600

3500 10200

The GTWR with manual 6 speed

2500 with 3. 73 11050

with 4. 10 13050

3500 with 3. 73 14200

with 4. 10 16200

The GTWR with Automatic 48RE is 800 lbs of the weights above

Dealer told me yesterday that they should have prices by the end of this week, I will post all the prices as soon as I get them
