my dodge electrics are puzzling me. below is a list of items that are ******* me off.
1.REMOTE KEY FOB ONLY WORKS WHEN IGNITION IS ON.

2.
WHEN DOOR IS OPENED, OVERHEAD LIGHT DOES NOT COME, UNTIL KEY IS TURNED TO RUN POSITION

3.DOOR LOCK SWITCH ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK DOORS UNLESS KEY IS IN RUN POSITION
4.EVERY TIME IGNITION IS TURNED OFF, THE ODOMETER REVERTS TO INDICATE TOTAL MILES, IT USED TO STAY IN TRIP INDICATION AND TOGGLE WITH THE PUSHBUTTON.

I suspect one of the computers is malfunctioning. I checked all the fuses, and all are good.
Thanks for any help. Jim

Everything you mention guides me to the ignition switch (electric part of), a cheaply made part that fails after years an make a lot of funny things happen.
I had to change mine 2 years ago. Mine hindered all electronics to go to sleep mode, so the battery drained within a couple of hours.

Let us know if it was the solution.
Also check the connector to the ignition switch when changing it, on mine one of the heavy gauge cable got hot and destroyed the crimp connector, I changed/repaired that and since then all is fine.

Ozy: I replaced the ignition switch, no help. also not working correctly are the 4-way hazard flashers, they only work with the ignition in run position, any help or ideas are appreciated.
Thanks, Jim Alexander
