2004.5 48re+exhaust brake: long term report?

I don't have an exhaust brake but I recall some of you out there with this set up are running an exhaust brake. I heard about the lack of electronics and the thrust washer issue and that 2004. 5 48re's may not have them installed in the trans.

Anybody out there with this set-up want to talk about their experiences with a 2004. 5 and a stock 48re trans?

Mine has a build date of about 4/04.

I followed the long thread on the exhaust brake which involved a engineer from Jacobs. Your statements are correct I would go to a transmission shop and ask them what the cost would be to install the thrust washer. Chrysler will not tell us when these were installed. Let us know what you come up with. My build date 01/04
