My son is in the market for his first diesel, I've been driving the new Fords, Chevys, And Dodges here in Pa, and he's been doing the same where he's stationed in UT. After driving them all, we both decided that the Doge was our first choice. He sat down with a dealer in Ogden Ut. last night and was told that they couldn't order anymore 6-speeds until the 2005 models came out. Has anyone heard this? He wants a loaded up truck and can't find any on the lots. Also does anyone have a feel for whether the rebates will go up next month or go away? Thanks, Jeff

Go to a different dealer. I just called the dealer where I ordered a six speed 6 weeks ago and his comment to me was, "I'll order you a whole fleet of six speeds if that is what you want. " There was a four week resriction placed on the 6 speeds back at the end of Feb, but that has since been lifted. And no clue on rebates.

Welcome to the TDR.

I think he is feeding you a line.

I would go ahead and order a 6-speed or find a dealer with one in stock.

I just bought one on Monday, but yes they are sort of hard to find.

I'm in the market too and am buddies with a fleet manager at a Dodge dealer who said they have 30 speeds on order that aren't even given a build date yet. So I don't necessarily think the guy is feeding you a line. The 6 speeds are definitely in demand. That being said, this same fleet manager said he could get a truck very, very close to whatever I wanted by trading with other dealers who may have one. Try another dealership if this guy is unable to help you.

I used tomeygun's pricing as leverage to order my truck here in Utah. Contacted all the Dodge dealers in Utah. Barber Bros in Spanish Fork was willing to give me the best price: $750 below invoice plus all applicable rebates. Phone number is 800-798-7430. Talk to Dan Mahfood. Mention TDR web site.
