Archived 2004.5 600 Throwing Error Codes

I have been in and out of my truck, running several small trips today and this afternoon the service light came on and it started to give me these codes

p0243

Does anyone know what these mean ??

P0243 Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid A Malfunction



P0480 Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit Malfunction

What do you think that the Wastegate solenoid malfunction resulted from - I am running an edge EZ, and an Air Raid intake

I really couldn't say. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in. I just new where to look up the codes.

I Have noticed a sudden increase in black smoke from the exhaust as well as a stronger fuel smell when I am at Idle after a long run - does anyone know if this can cause any damage - The truck is still under warranty so I think that I am going to take it to the dealer tomorrow - any suggestions are appreciated

I am sure you already know this; but I would remove the edge ez before taking it to the dealer. Good luck let us know what they find.

yes remove the chip before you go.



I just talked to my local dealer yesterday and he said " go ahead and play with the air intake and the exhaust but don't mess with the fuel delivery or it will void your factory warranty. "

I was going to buy a EZ chip but now ????

Those error codes your having is the decieding factor for helping me to keep mine stock.
