2004.5,61000 miles P0628 code wont run

I started my truck this morinig and it just didn't seem to run right ( you know what I mean like it was'nt running on all cylinder's) I thought it was just cold so I drive downtown and while turning the corner the engine just quit running, I coasted over to the curb and restarted the truck then it just died I tried a few more starts to no avail and called AAA. I stopped by my house on the way to the dealer's and took a reading with my DB3 and I recived the code P0628, fuel pump. I have 6100 miles on my truck with a 100000 mile warranty and 75000 amile power train warranty should the dealer cover this pump and how much do they cost also what are the after market pumps on the market that will give a few more miles of life. I have a edge and attitude with the 5 inch exhaust.

what does that mean, like do I have a electrical or fuel management problem?.

Your lift pump is most likely dead.

Your lift (primary) fuel pump took a dump. If you have the LP mounted on the filter canister up front and have the DEALER do the work, they will retrofit it to the in-tank model. Just went trhough this on my '03 , unfortunately mine is not under warranty anymore, not that they ever did, or could, work on it when it was under warranty. Or you could upgrade to a FASS or GDP system if you are doing the work yourself.
