ok, I guess I have been a member for more than a year and it is time for me to post something. I am currently in Iraq, working on my tan and enjoying the sand, and the best turbo sounds come out of a Ford. Unless of course you count the Huge turbines in the M1A3 Abrams tank...

Anyway, coming home soon and looking to upgrade my Dually. Looking for something that will give best bang for the buck. Or is it boost?

I did not see this listed anywhere so I am asking for opinions, and I know what that will get me. :-{} Not just looking for HP and smoke [that will change I am sure] but for auto trans upgrades and such.

2004. 5 Quad door DRW stock as of now. 3. 73's 4x4. Thanks!!!!

God speed to you sir, come home safe and sound soon!! Again, thanks for all you guys do, you are the back bone of this country.

THANKS AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!! That is a damn good truck stock. I own a 04. 5 4X4 NV5600 CTD. Reminds me of the duece & 1/2 I used to drive in the army Maybe you want to trade it in for a new MEGA cab with G56 trans. Autos dont belong behind a diesel motor espeacially the mighty CTD.

Not true you should here my 05 with the afe torqu tube, green cold air box and 5" Magnaflow exhaust. Whistles loud. Those Abrams must be sportin' the big cummins then :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf Take care my friend

Thank you for what you are doing AMixon! Semper Fi.

As for your trans, do a search and start reading. In the end, it's your choice and your money so get what you want.

From what I've read on this page, Guages / Monitor are first... . then perhaps a transmission (tc + vb)... . this lets you monitor your trucks vitals, take baseline readings, and put the stock power to the ground..... then you can add a box when you're ready..... I have a stock transmission, but most prefer the DTT or ATS Parts.....

Thank you for your service to our country, keep safe and god bless!

Thanks guys for the kind words and hop up tips. my postings are a little irratic due life and restrictions here. When I mentioned the Fords it was in reference to some of the Excursions they have running around here with the PSD teams, you can here the turbos before you see them. There isn't too many Dodges running in Iraq, who knew?

like most folks I want to gett the most I can for my money, don't we all? I read everything there is over here (getting my TRD's sent here also) but can't get real testing data. I will read more posts and sig's to see what works for most of you guys and gals.

I have been over here since last November and can not wait to get home on the 14th. One of the first things I am gonna do is hop in my Dodge and head for the west coast away from the cold weather and home of the world champion chicago white sox!

Thanks again!

AMixon,

Sorry for the digression but thank you for serving your country and wishing you a safe return!!!! My wife ishas been over there for two months and has at least ten more to go.

"GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!"

Good Luck and God Speed... I would do it in this order:

1. Gauges... Boost, EGT. Perhaps the Bullydog Outlook monitor, does it all or the EZ Attitude.
2. Intake
3. Exhaust
4. Injectors
5. Turbo
6. transmission

Fix what breaks when you hit 600 HP.
That will take a chunk out of the Hazardous Duty pay. Good luck to you I was in Iraq in March 04. Before the big PX went in.

Hey TEX... yes the PX is large at Victory, the one in the IZ is small. Funny how the insurgents keep missing EVERYONE when they drop motars in. Of course, if I had a few Apaches and a bunch of guys with guns hunting me, I am not so sure how well my round placement would be either!

Thanks for the checklist. I think I will try to take care of 1 and 2 in November. Just got to decide who's gauges I like. I have Autometer stuff in the cars and the dodges are white... . I already have a AFE stage one intake and look to get the torque tube next.

I like the 70 degree weather here... dread the -temps awaitng me in chi-town...

Thanks again all!
