2004.5 Fuel Pump ?

I just put on one of Geno's LED low fuel pressure switches and noticed the fuel pump running for what I thought was a long time before shutting off when I turned the ignition on but did not start the engine. The LED did go out immediately after starting (indicating the fuel pressure was above 5 psi).



How long should the pump run from the time the ignition is turned on, assuming one did not actually start the engine?



I also bought the replacement fuel pump from Geno's. I have 72,000 miles on the 04. 5.

Think I read where it is 30 secs if you bump the starter. Not sure how long if you just turn on the ignition switch.

what fuel pressure is the 2005 supposed to be at? Is a 3rd gen lift pump better than the 2nd gen?

As of 2004. 5 the ECM is programmed to engage the fuel pump for 30 seconds when the key is turned to RUN. No need to bump the starter.

Pre-2004. 5 trucks that have an ECM flash will behave the same way.
