Drivers Rear Cab Door won't Open

Not sure if this was posted somewhere on this site, but if you want a good laugh and see an "old" Dodge just flat outrun this Dmax (both pulling close to their limit), then watch this video.

This guy is building a case against GM about overheating Dmax's and made this 20 minute tape. He is driving in central Texas and his Dmax is just overheating like mad. He has a full laptop with electronics hooked up to the truck to monitor everything ... and some "old crappy" Dodge passes him :D (I'm sure it was a old 12-valver with a 5-speed).

Don't know? Probably not.

Maybe he traded it for an "old infearior" 1997 Dodge. :D

actually, he did win, and they paid for his truck, lawyer fees and a little more I think, AND he keeps the truck... go figure.

I can't figure out how he could actually win the suit... to me all that video did was prove he abused the crap out of that truck. I mean running it 20+ miles the whole time overheating it... all the video proved to me was that the truck was not a big enough truck to pull the load he wanted it to pull.

Now, I laughed the whole time while he was going off about that old Dodge passing and walking away from him... but I was actually fairly impressed that the Dmax didn't explode! That being said, I'm glad I have an inferior Dodge to pass all them superior Dmax's!!

thats hilarious, and whats funnier is the "dodge guy" probably has the cruise control on and has no idea this "superior vehicle" is about to melt trying to keep up with him :-laf . you can hear this guys brand preferences changing in his voice he he

I agree completely. However, what are the chances the average layman in a jury would even think of that? A jury is just going to see a big corporation trying to get out of having to pay a little money for a product that's obviously inferior.

GM sold him the truck claiming it could haul X amount of weight... he wasn't even maxed out and the thing went into limp mode. false advertising.

I understand that they claim these trucks can haul XX amount... however they also post EPA fuel mileage numbers on window stickers as well. I've never seen my Subaru get anywhere near the number that was posted on the sticker... so can I sue as well? ;)

I think the thing this guy is forgetting is that the conditions under which he is operating are changing... the outside temp, the grades, etc. that all effect how well any vehicle will perform. I just think that the guy wanted to pull XX amount of weight and do it at 90 mph... regardless of conditions. The truck could have pulled the trailer without overheating had he backed out of WOT... The fact that he had the Uhaul on backwards really bothered me... I mean its obvious that backwards was the worst possible way for that trailer to be loaded... the wind drag on that load had to be incredible!

Not trying to start a ******* match, just my . 02! And I'm still happy I got a Dodge! :-laf

Where does he get off stating that the old Dodge is "obviously an inferior product compared to the DMax". He couldn't catch it! And the Dodge owner was just poking along doing what it always does... day in, day out. Get real pal!!

I was banned from thedieselplace.com for incessant Dodge cheerleading and Dmax bashing. My how things have changed over there.

For those who have membership there... . it's free, there is a thread with a guy looking to buy a truck who is torn between a DMax and a Cummins.

This is nothing new EXCEPT 90% of the responses... on the biggest Dmax site out there, are pro Dodge and Cummins with a very large portion being GM owners.

My jaw dropped reading it. :-laf Hey Nick :p

It also showed the view from the cockpit of light duty engined truck--with dash warning lights a blazin'--trying to keep up with an a older medium duty engined Cummins equiped truck pulling more weight and rattling down the road the way a truck should! That Cummins wasn't smoking at all. I bet that if Rocky started really shoveling the coal he could have shortened up that video. :-laf

Dmax has enough protection in the system to not allow you to hurt it. That's why he couldn't keep up. It defuels automatically when the engine gets too hot but not hot enough to damage it..... theoretically.

What those guys are saying is true, the dodge part of the truck is a piece of crap, I have had more problems with the body on my dodge than I have ever had with any other vehicle. The only parts that havent had problems are the parts not made by dodge, the axles, the engine..... um well thats about it. Oh wait the transmission blew up twice (auto). I am discusted with the quality dodge puts into the body and frame on these trucks and I will be ridding my self of my dodge in favor of a ford that I am going to swap a 12 valve into with a 5 speed.
