My 2004 database is way outdated, and I would like to update, if it can be done economically. Does anyone have a new update disk and have done this update? What's the cost? Is there an alternative source for the update, rather than Dodge?

I have seen it on ebay. Do a search for RB1. (That is if you have the RB1 system. Not sure if the RB4 uses the same disk). The very latest upgrade is a bit expensive ... around 150. but the one just prior to that is less than half that.

My old data map disks are numbered 05091501AG, produced by Harman/BeckerAutomotive Systems Gmbh. Since I moved from Tennessee I have misplaced my instruction book for the GPS, so I don't have a good answer as to what type I have. It's the one with AM/FM Stereo w/CD & GPS Navigation Infinity Speaker System ($1,725 on sticker). At that price they should supply the sysyem software at a more reasonable price.

Any other way to determine your unit specs?

Thanks to your hint, JimBob, I now know that mine is an RB4. That RB1 looks good, and seems much better than the RB4. Hummmm!

I think the main difference between the RB1 & RB4 is that the RB1 has an actual moving map while the RB4 displays turn arrows and directions on its screen but has no map. I bought a new RB1 on ebay and have been satisfied with it, although it does not have anywhere near the info and capabilities of a laptop with an Earthmate GPS receiver and Street Atlas software. I do like the clean, clutter-free look of the factory units vs the laptop though.
