2004 Dodge Ram Shifting Problems

Have 2004 Dodge Ram that won't shift out of first gear until I get to a really high rpm. Have to stomp on it to get it too shift out of first gear, every other gear shifts fine.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

Jep, change the output shaft speed sensor at the transmission, it is fitted left hand down on the overdrive unit.
A 10$ easy fix. Usually it is this, had it my self 3x on different mopar vehicles with this transmission.

Do you need to drain the transmission fluid to replace the sensor?

No, there will only be a couple of drops comming out of the OD Housing. Park a little nose down helps too.
