hey geys, i got this truck for my son when he graduated from school. for the first time he got a check engine light, code was p0402 autozone said it was egr valve. they are asking 150-200 dollars for the egr, does anyone now if it needs to be replaced or i can do something else to fix it. thank rcrosby

You can try pulling it apart and cleaning it with throttle body cleaner. It could be jammed up with carbon, but will most likely need to be replaced.
