2004 or 2004.5??

Just joined the TDR and see references to both a 2004 and a 2004. 5 Ram. Are these two different vehicles? If so when will the 2004. 5 be available? My dealer only has 2004's on the lot now.



Excuse the dumb question, I am really enjoying reading all the posts here on the TDR.

2004. 5's are models built 1/1/04 or later, there are some changes to these as you can find out by reading earlier posts as well as the article on the main page. My dealer said it takes approx 25 days to reach the east coast from mexico. If a deasler in your area ordered any they should be there by the end of the month at the earliest.

Not necessarily. I was at a Dodge dealer in So. Cal yesterday that claims to be the highest volumn Dodge truck dealer in the state. They have over 400 various trucks on the lot. The fleet manager told me that they have an entire order of 04. 5 trucks on order that are stuck in BX (the DC code for waiting to be scheduled to be built). The only ones that are in schedule D (firm schedule) are those that are pre-sold. Aparently they will build the orders first, then deliver the sit on the lot trucks to the dealers afterwards. Buy the 04 and be happy that you don't have a Calif certified truck! They have a cat converter. . YUK!
