I'm looking at replacing my stock exhaust with a 4" madrel bent system. I found the Magnaflow Pro Series to be very reasonable. The only one listed though is for a quad cab long bed. Can I use this system and just cut one of the pipes to shorten it? Most systems are for 2004. 5 and up, I'm having troube finding one for my year.

when i got my BD 5" setup, the only difference in the kit from long bed/short bed was the length of the mid pipe [mine came with an extension piece for the mid pipe which was unused]. the tail pipe assembly is the same between long/short. the down pipe is the same between long/short. the muffler and how it hangs is the same. . the mid pipe is different. . if the deal is good, go for it

I got my expandit kit off of ebay, very reasonable price and was suprised how great it sounds and no droan. The kit came with a really long mid pipe that you cut to fit. Comes with reducers to put the cat back in for 04. 5+ trucks.

Magnaflow 4" SS turbo back system for 2003/2004 is p/n 17974. Do a google search on this p/n and you will find it for approx $475 or so delivered to your door.

Super easy install. Everything bolts right in place. I would get the SS band clamps instead of the u-bolts for approx $9 each.

You can't go wrong with the Magnaflow or the MBRP system. If you want the MBRP system p/n, please let me know.

I chose the MBRP over the Magnaflow only because it was 3 pipes vs. 4.

I had the Magnaflow muffler only before I upgraded to the MBRP SS system and the Magnaflow sounded like a big block gasser at idle with no drone while towing.

The MBRP has a weird "thup, thup, thup" sound at idle but may actually sound better at highway speeds.

Hope this helps,

Louis
