2004 running rough ?

I have a 2004 w/ 57 K on it running on highway 65 mph. and truck starts running rough. It only runs rough at low or half throttle if i get into it truck starts to smooth out but only when running over 2K rpm. this has happened

a couple of times this yr. On my last trip I got towed,had new fuel pump put in tank. Any idea why truck runs so rough?

Did you get any excessive smoke when it happens?



Sounds like an injector hanging up...

No excess smoke it gradually got worse? But you would think it was an injector. Thanksgiving it happend and the dealer said they thought it was something to do with my #4 cylinder. I had to drive 70-75 mph. . 400 miles home. It started to run good an hour from home. Truck ran good till fuel pump went up.

When my injector went, it was a cloud behind me...

If it was a lack of fuel, I'd expect it to lose power significantly...

I went out and took a drive No rough idle when i started the truck or drove it, but I hear a slight valve tap now. Somthing still isn't right.



PS . I read your post about the bare wire I'll have to look .

Valve tap or injector ticking? At the end, my injectors were louder than the valves...

I cleaned and oil my AFE before I left the house ,had driven about 180 miles before truck started to run bad. It sucks having this happen with your boat on the back being 400 miles from home.

I woke up started truck after five minutes ran good as new!
