Is fuel economy an accurate measure of injector health?

Smarty s-06 pod Question

I have another thread going about this truck making oil (see here).

It cranks over just fine and it fires once if you step on the fuel pedal while cranking, but won't start.

Some odd things I noticed:
  1. The fuel pump relay (#61) under the hood cycles on and off pretty rapidly with the key in the ACC position. You can hear the pump turning on and off too.
  2. The fuel gauge is on E and doesn't move at all. I put 7 gallons of fuel in the tank and the gauge didn't come up at all.
  3. The glow plug light flashes and never shuts off, no matter how long you leave the key in ACC
  4. Prior to being left sitting for 6 months, it didn't have an issue starting at all
Any ideas?

Did you replace the batteries or just charge them?
What is your battery voltage?
What the voltage when cranking? (at battery, not dash)

I have seen the TIPM become intermittent with marginal battery voltage or low voltage when cranking, but that doesn't explain problem 2 and 3.

& gallons is not enough to prime the system if it has been opened, you need at least a 1/2 tank or it will fight you. Hopefully you changed the filter as sitting like that it is probably partially plugged. Once you change the fuel filter and get enough fuel in it pull the input line form the CP-3 and make sure you have fuel there. The FCA is the next thing to replace after sitting. If you have bad injectors it also may not be making enough pressure. Hit it with starting fluid and see if will pop off, that would be the answer to the no start.
