2005 5.9 Coolant leak

I have coolant dropping off the driver side coil spring. I can't find where it is leaking. It just started and it is a decent size puddle, but the overflow hasn't gone down too much. The puddles always seem bigger.



Any idea of what could be causing it?

The drivers side coil bucket seems odd, no coolant near it, and you sure its not PS fluid?

oops... my bad, thought he meant passengers side coil by the turbo.

Nope - driver's side. I figured it had to be PS. I looked the ground and it was oily looking, etc. I got out a light and the creeper. Green drops on the lower shock mount, etc. Puzzling to say the least. Water pump was swapped in Jan or so. I don't see anything up front. I figured it might be the radiator - nothing found.

Just in from cutting hay. I'll take another look tomorrow.

Even more puzzling is the fact that it's green drops. Coolant should be orange unless you have changed it...

If it is an Automatic it could be the coolant line for the transmission cooler, and it is spraying when the coolant pressure comes up.



provided the truck has green antifreeze rather than red.

I will pull the radiator cap and see what is it in there. The overflow looks orange, but maybe it is stained.

Where do the transmission lines run? I was pulling my 24' gooseneck loaded this weekend.

Trans cooler lines wouldn't leak coolant. Maybe coolant would travel down them.

I have not found it yet. Been too busy. Was up to 1Am baling hay. I need to use it to pull hay out of the fields first. Then I am going to drop it off at the dealer on Monday.

Not sure what is going on. It is not dripping now and the radiator and overflow coolant levels are fine. I hauled hay with it this week some, so it got a workout. I parked it down hill this time and when it was leaking it was uphill. Not sure if that will make a difference or not, but going to try it.

What color is the oil in shocks? I wonder if that is coming out of my MX6 shocks... doubt it, just thinking.
