I thought I would post the results of the clutch replacement I just had done on my 05 3500 DRW with just over 153k on it.
Being that I'm going to be hauling heavy I decided on a Dual Disk assembly. After doing a little research on DD clutches I decided to roll with a Valair DD towing clutch, here's a link to the site http://www.valairinc.com/performance/24nv5600.html
I had the "QNV56DDSN-ORG Quiet Dual Disc Kit - Organic Facings" installed. I wanted a clutch that operated pretty much like the stock assembly and that was why I went for the all organic assembly. I can report that the new Valair assembly operates pretty much just like the stock clutch with a tad bit more of engagement, as for the peddle pressure I real can't tell any difference between the stock single disc and the new Valair DD.
I was hoping to use the stock hydraulics but for some reason with the new Valair DD the peddle had a bunch of slop at the top of the peddle. Being that the stock hydraulics had no adjustment I ended up replacing the hydraulics with the Valair HD Hydraulics that has adjustment and that took care of that issue.
All-n-all I'm very happy with the assembly, the only down side is the rattle of DD assemblies.
