How to know if brake controller works.....?

GCWR problem solving help requested

I'am looking at a 2005 Cruiser 5th wheel manufactured by Cross Roads model 29RK. It is aluminum framed, fiberglass exterior, 2 slides on one side. Could you share any experience you have had with this company or better yet this particular model? Thanks,

Thank you, How did they tow compared to other companies you have towed of comparable size, any noticable increase in fuel mileage? This unit says it weighs 7,700 lbs unloaded and a gvw of 12,000. I know some companies list the base weight without the slides so I'am thinking the actual weight is some where around 10,000 lbs before adding water and camping goods. I cann't beleave it would weigh 7,700 lbs with the slides and an extra 4,000 lbs of carring capacity.

Cross Roads has a pretty good reputation from what I have heard. I think they are a lighter coach. I know a guy that tows a 27 ' with a Hemi. The weight might be right, but if you are concerned the dealer should be willing to put it on a scale for you. I was under the impression that the weight listed on the sticker above the sink was the actual empty weight of the unit.

For a frame of reference, my 5er weighs 11,200lbs full loaded, with about 3/4 tank of H20.

I guess the weight is not much of a concern with the truck I have. I'am more concerned about 2 slides on one side without one on the other side to counter balance the weight. The camper is a brand new hold over that has been sitting since at least last year if not the year before with the slides out for display and it looks like it leans on the slide side. Maybe with the slides slid back in it will sit normal, I'll have to check it out more before going any further in the negotiation process. Any one have experience with two slides on one side making the camper tilt?
