Hi,
I think I have problems with my 1994 CTD starter. It blows the 40 amp fuse often, and when I climb under truck to jump the electricity from selonoid to big copper stud, it almost wants to weld the short 12gauge solid wire to the places that the wire touches.
I think my starter is pulling much more amps than previously.
I called up Foster Truck (very good guy) and the only thing he can think of is to check the wiring on starter and make sure no wires have rubbed.
I rebuilt the starter with the entire $150 kit from Foster Truck, contacts, armiture, brushes etc. just a few years ago.
I also have a 2005 CTD complete with a stock starter.
Can this be used instead of my stock starter?
I'd prefer to have another proven starter here when I'm working on truck. I live out of town, very few neighbors and don't know anyone if I get stranded.
