2005 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Regular Cab 4wd w/ 5. 9 HO Cummins w/ 4 speed auto

I'm selling my Ram 2500 regular cab due to my wife and I recently having a baby and now we are needing a quad cab. I am the original owner of the truck and purchased it new in 2005 with the idea of keeping if for 20+ years. It currently has ~140,300 miles on it and it drives and runs great. I can't say that about the 2005 quad cab I just bought as it has the 1-2 shift issue, needs new batteries and all new front brakes. The truck that is for sale doesn't have any of these issues and I'm sad to see it go as it's been the best truck I've ever owned. The truck is as nice as the pictures make it out to be.

The truck has been diligently maintained since I bought it and I have all the maintenance and repair records for it. The truck is located in the San Luis Obispo area of California. It's been a daily driver for me and has never been used as a work truck or for towing heavy loads.

I'm including the original window sticker from the vehicle so folks can see what options it has on it. I've added an ARE brand campershelll to the truck, which also has the integral Yakima towers and bars. The truck and engine are completely stock and has never had a chip or programmer. I've added a few other items such as:

Linex bedliner
Bumper plug for block heater
Front end bug guard
Grill guard (from Geno's Garage)

I'm asking $19,000 for the truck. Please feel free to contact me via a PM if you have any questions.
Thanks
Dwayne

We special ordered our mistake from Dave Smith. It's just the wife and I w/no pets. Tools and a Viair compressor amongst other things fits behind the seat. The regcab is the perfect platform for a slide-in popup. Way back we had a F-150 xtracab. The backseat was lonely and never got used and the 6. 5 bed didn't rate either.

Standard cabs aren't for everyone but for us it fits the bill.

No offence meant Regcagguy. I had a regular cab truck when I had 4 kids and the extended cab wasn't yet available. Now the kids are grown and gone from the nest and it's just Mrs. grizzly and I.

We wind up putting a lot of stuff in the back seat when we travel. For our performance I must have the four door extended cab long bed.

I know, it's big, but it fits in my garage and trailer port and went I take it to Home Depot and Costco, I park it in the lower 40 and take up 2 spaces. I believe a little walk into the store is good for me. In the event the parking lot is really crowed, I'll only use one space.

My concern is that it may be difficult to sell a regular cab truck.

Here in CA we have a lot of folks that travel down into Baja with a pop-up slide in camper or a full cab-over. I think this truck would be perfect for that. Not to mention there's a ton of retired folks out there that want to tow their trailers around and have no need or want a quad cab. In the years I've owned it I have been surprised how many people come up to me and ask me about it. Most of them didn't even realize that Dodge made a 2500 diesel in a regular cab anymore since they're rarely seen. Due to that I think it's actually a rare find and a more attractive to certain folks. I've had it on the market for less than 24 hours and already have a couple of emails from interested folks. I'm able to sit on it for quite a while until it sells, so it's not a big deal to me how long it takes.

Very nice truck. When I sold my 2001 Regular Cab, I ended up with a bidding war between 3 guys. There is definately a market for them, especially when they are clean and well equipped like yours. Best of luck with your sale.

Thanks jgillot. My buddies are kicking themselves as they want the truck since they know how I've maintained it, but they already have trucks of their own.

I always get a kick out of looking at CA trucks. NO RUST! I don't think regular cabs are a mistake, but I don't have kids. I had to look long and hard to find a truck that had everything I wanted. When I found my '00 I bought it with cash the next day because someone else was trying to get the financing(nothing was signed and he was told I was working on an offer). When I was signing the papers, The guy called and said the bank ok'd the loan.

How fast a vehicle sells will tell you if the asking price is correct
That being said the classifieds here do not get much action

I hear you Bob. I'm not in a huge rush to sell it, but then again I don't want it sitting here in June, LOL!

I've got it listed in four other spots online also. I might do an eBay listing too in early January.

Going to sweeten the deal by including the following items with the truck:

- Brand new set of rear brake pads (bought them thinking they'd need replacing soon, but the original rear pads are lasting forever!)
- One Fleetguard oil filter
- Once case of Delo 400 15-40W motor oil (3 gallons)

No problem George. Bob4x4 and many of you have one of the most desired platforms: a qclb. There is no perfect configuation. If we get a dog someday,a backseat will be a necessity.

You might want to wait until after Christmas is over, but then the world's gonna end tomorrow so why bother?

My Golden gets the 2/3 portion of my fold flat floor. we just rescued a puppy so now we"ll see if she will share her space

RegCab,

Funny thing about tomorrow being the end of the world... tomorrow is my birthday too! Everyone is getting a kick out of that.

My sister in law rescues Labs. It's heartwarming to see their progress. I'm the unofficial dogwalker. Best part of course is picking up the steamers. If they outlaw plastic bags, what are we to do?

I believe that the regular cabs would be more popular for commercial work and the quad cab better suited for personal use, and work where a crew is involved.
The reg cab is favored around the lumber yards.
good luck with the sale.

Looks like I should have it sold by next week, funds pending. The first person that actually came and looked at it and not just called, bought it. He said it was the cleanest used truck he's seen during his search and that the interior could pass as new if it had that new car smell.
