2005 owners, How are things holding up?

Hello I bought the 05 in my signature back in april of 05. I have a little over 9K on it most of it was put on this summer when I was towing with it. So far things are holding up good. No real issues, have not even been back to dealer. No warranty repairs or any repairs. Truck is flawless so far, (knocking on wood).



What is your experience?



Just trying to guage what I have to look forward to.

I just turned over the 10,000 mile mark this morning on my 05 and have had zero problems.

My 05 has 17,801 miles and runs perfect! It's a year old next month.



I stopped by the dealer a month ago, had the doorseals replaced. I was in and out in 20 minutes!



This is the only time it has been to the dealer.

Mine is 8 months old and has 16. 5k miles on it. I have had 2 new steering pumps on it, 1 at 1500 miles the other at 12k miles. Other than that this thing has been perfect. Milage sucks, but with the EDGE J/A on level 2 I am seeing 14-15mpg with the 295 tires and keeping my foot in it. :-laf

Bought mine in April of '05, now with just under 18,000 miles and no problems yet. It has been a great truck I am very pleased with it. The door seals are ripped but it doesn't leak and the dealer said if they replace them they will be ripped again in a few months.

picked mine up end of June 05, 27K on it, back bumper has dent from hitting a trailer. They will not replace it. I am outraged - they said bumper to bumper warranty!! It is also very dirty after driving in snow. I have been told by many Chevy and Ford owners that their trucks never dent or get dirty. I must have a lemon. Anyway, no problems with the truck.

I've got two 2005s. One with 28_+K miles (2500) that has had the whole cab replaced because of an accident. Also had to replace both door seals on the new cab. No other problem-runs like a champ. The newer one has 18K miles (3500) and usually pulls a 30' 5th wheel with it. Early on I had a bad rear shock that the dealer replaced and had a fluke engine alarm that turned out to be a high temp indication under one of the batteries that they replaced a detector on. No other problems and it runs and looks great. Sure do love them Rams.

Got mine in April of 05 also. It has 22. 6K on it now. Runs like a champ. Haven't had a problem yet (now lets see how the ride home goes???). Getting around 19-21 mpg highway empty. I tow a small trailer (about 3K lb. )through the montains of WV during hunting season and get about 16 mpg. The truck is still stock... ... ... . FOR NOW!!!!

I'm at ~21k now. Only problem thus far was a U joint went out around 17-18k. I've been running the TST box for about 6000 miles now. Only other issues are the door seals I have yet to mention to the dealer, and the sometimes blinky high beam indicator lamp when hi beams are off (no other issues regarding lighting, functions normally).

This summer the in tank lift pump will probably be bypassed and left in there as a backup system, because the TST just wants more fuel than it can supply on level 4/3 and above. I wouldn't consider that a failure though, since on stock or mild settings it works fine.

8,000 miles... will need a new door seal and will have the dealer check the freon charge since the AC was a little weak in the summer. Great truck!

I have 9800 miles, new door seals and hopefully just the oil pressure sending unit, other than that it is one bad a** truck

Got mine December '04. Original door seals, never been back to the dealer. What are you guys doing to those seals? It has about 12,000 miles total, 6000 towing. My '01 went back at least 10 times.

21k miles on my 05. 1 PowerSteering Pump; Door Seals torn; all else appears good to go... . love the truck, just wish I had more money to put toys on it!

10,000 miles

I bought my black 4 dr 6 speed 2500 at the end of May 05. Have not been back to the dealer. I changed oil at 5,000 miles and it had not used a drop including some light towing. I just put 3,400 miles on it in one week when my kid brother died and I drove it to Houston TX. I clocked 1025 miles in 16 1/2 hours. That is an average of 62 mph. I ended up using a quart of oil over this second 5,000 miles. I figure I have broken it in now and this week will now go to my Amsoil. I averaged 18. 9 mpg over the 3,400 mile trip. I love this truck but wished I had bought 4wd because being the 8ft bed the truck wants to spin a lot when it gets off the pavement. I am projecting this truck will last 20 years and at age 62 I also figure it will be my last new truck.

Almost 24,000 on mine it will be 1 year old on feb 28. Been in the shop for both front widow regulators. (just a little too noisy for me) just basic service done. Runs like a top couldn't be happier with my truck just want more money for bombs like everyone else!

2005. . Approx 8,500 miles. . Door seals were torn since a couple thousand miles. . Only time I've checked mileage by hand, it was getting 11 mpg pulling 11,000 plus pounds at 72-75 mph. . It got 14 mpg pulling 4,000 running 78. .

31,000 miles here, other than a set of door seals no problems. 17-18 mpg with the hot juice on level 3. (hand calc. )

Had a leaky hose clamp. Fixed it myself,saved a day at the *******.

05 purchased in March 05. Best friend's truck, goes by spocky here but is rarely on. Hooked him up with Tomeygun for the sale. Anyway. 25k with no mechanical problems. Slight starting delay every now and then. Blew some paint off the front bumper with pressure washer and that is about it. Wait. Yellow lab puppy (Porter) ate the passenger side seat!!! Now that is it. I will have him check the door seals?
