My wife today was going to adjust her passenger seat lumbar control (it's the 3 inch round knob on the outboard side of seat backrest) I hear a pop sound and it broke off. I would guess this is a common problem, as the part looks like it was made pretty weak, (thin plastic)

But I did not find it as a reacurring problem when I ran a search.

I only have under 12,000 miles on my truck (yes under 12K miles), and my wife has only ridden in my truck 3 or 4 times so the seat is almost a virgin.

Anyone have any thoughts or have experienced this problem

Thanks Bill

Yes, I broke the one on the drivers side on 06. Dealer replaced, it's a pretty simple procedure to replace. The seat does not have to be dis-assembled. bg

Only one reply, I guess this is not a common problem. Sure thought it might have been as the plastic is so thin.

Thanks all, Bill

Same thing on my '05 - except driver's side.
Probably broke at 30K miles. Dealer replaced it when truck was in for
the infamous blend-door (A/C) fix.

Now I don't bother to use it anymore - use some kind of "external" support.
Figure it will just break again.
