2005-Replaced Waterpump-Can't located 2 missing impeller fins ???

The waterpump went out on my 2005 3500 5.9 cummins. I had been driving at freeway speeds for hours and didn't hear it start making noise, my first indication was when the water temperature went up to 210. (Thinking back, I may have overlooked the common symptom of a puddle below the engine, thinking it was from the AC instead of looking futher, anyways.)
I took the next exit. When I stopped the temp was nearing 230 and water was pouring out from the front of my engine.
I had it flatbed'ed home 78 miles for free thanks to my AAA Plus membership.
When I pulled the pump it only had 2 beat up impeller fins left. I was able to find two more close by the waterpump flange. I put the new pump on and slept on it.
The next day I took the new pump off and did some more feeling and found another fin. I also used a endoscope attached to my I Phone but didn't find anything visible. I also managed to fish out with my finger 3 small pieces of non magnetic material that were directly below the mounting area of the pump. It's back together again without the water, but I still have concerns. I tend to over analyze things, so here I go again.
I began looking on line for similar problems.
On one forum post I saw it was suggested to look inside the engine oil cooler.
I just came in from looking at it and thought I'd ask for anyone who has had this problem or heard of it to comment before I go any futher.
I could fill it with water and run it, and remove the pump again hoping to find the missing pieces.

Haven't heard of an impeller grenading. I just had to change out my pump the other day impeller intact. Good luck on that I would be over analyzing it too.

When I replaced my oil cooler I found a fin in behind there, my pump was replaced later but that was OK.. So I expect it was an earlier pump that 'blew'.

There are likely thousands of engines running around with a stray fin in the cooling system, loosing a fin is pretty common. Based on that don't think you have much to worry about unless you are maxing out the engine performance all the time.
