Fan Clutch performance test?

Cp3 disaster

On my 1999 In enjoyed having a switch to lock up the TC when using a Pac brake. I now want to install a switch on a 2006. Trying to find installation information for a 2006 switch installation.

Information appreciated.

Pin #6 on the trans control harness, Scotchlok a wire to it, run the wire to one side of a SPST switch, other side of the switch run wire to 1/2 watt 33 ohm resistor then to good chassis ground. Done.

Do you have an exhaust brake on the 06?. If so, when brake is activated the TC should stay locked. If not, you can ground out the exhaust brake circuit on the ecm and the TC will stay locked and be in T/H mode. I added a switch and can activate and deactivate as desired. I posted a thread about it years ago. I forget the pin out but it should be here somewhere. It's one of my favorite mods and only cost is the switch and pin for the ecm plug.

Thanks for the information. I do have an Banks exhaust brake installed. The controller to transmission. cable has always been an intermittent connection problem. Bad design for use on a truck due to rough roads and vibration. I currently have the cable disconnected. Just want to have an option to lock up the TC when needed.

I am following this thread as I want to do the same thing. Would love to know what you end up doing and I will copy you!

Do you kn ow the color of the wire to pin # 6 and the easiest place to access it.

Wire color changes over years but not the pin out. The harness side of the plug has each circuit marked with a number on the inside of the plug, use that as an absolute reference. Peel back the conduit right at the connector and tap in there is the easiest place. You could also tap on the B connector but oyu need the in out and wire color for your year of truck to find it, trans connector is just easier to get to and validate.
