2006 3500 automatic question?

what transmission do I have? and what fluid do i use when i change my factory pan for a mag-hytec dd. I have been reading the past post but im so confused i dont know what to get. Just going to bite the bullet and get transmission fluid from dealer, if i get no feedback. thanks for any info, im about 2000 miles from changing my fluid..... I would like to buy the fluid localy in las vegas, and not by mail... . Oo.

You have a 48RE, which is what my '05 had. I also had the Mag-Hytec DD pan and loved it. Mopar ATF +4 fluid is what you need, IIRC.



on edit: make sure you install that spacer for the filter, otherwise you're not going to get good fluid pickup.

mopar atf +4 at wallyworld. put dd727 on my 06 last week. took 11 qts. refill.
