2006 3500 Dually Mega Cab..buy it?

Hey... . I am looking at a 2006 Dodge 3500 Dually Mega Cab. It is 6sp, exhaust brake, B&W goosenck hitch, loaded up. . Laramie Pkg, new tires, 43,000 miles. . still has 30 days left on power train warranty... I am getting a 37 foot toy hauler and would use it to tow the toys.

firm price of $30,000. 00... . all stock...

It's priced within nada range for 82410 zip. Is this a private sale or dealer? If it were to be a dealer I would think they would not have more than $24-25k in it.
How long has it been for sale? Time has a way of helping the buyer.
The low miles is a big plus.

It is a private sale... He just put it up for sale. . don't think I want to wait too long... someone else will buy it... Cummins Dodge are pretty popular around here.

I will probably call him in the morning and get the truck.

Hate to let the 1999 go... I bought it Dec of 1998... . been a great truck.

Who pays window sticker, or even retail ?? 30 sounds a bit high for around here , but if they are hot in your area, go for it, all yours in 30 days, 5 years old already. Your toybox GN or 5th?

Generally buying used is buying someone problems,Although buying form a private party eliminates much of the risk... Being a shop owner I see this regularly,Example 2005 Ford owner concern is truck is puking and poor heat, Coolant checked for exhaust contamination, confirmed HG(s) leaking,Before Chris could even explain the repair. . owner. . "time to trade it in on new truck" Sure enough I saw the truck on the GM lot,just for S&G reason I check it out,Sure enough the the 50 point check up watch passed with NO mention of the HG(s), I up the hood and NO indication of the heads being off. . Someone is going to buy this truck with a 2K repair. MN has a license dealer 90 Day (New Dealer car sales Warranty) but it may not appear until summer or towing. . that may be passed the 90 Day warranty on power train. #@$%!

avg trade in 28,575. 00..... rough trade in... 26,825. 00



This truck would be above avg. . new tires. . like new inside... front end is good. . I drove it 150 miles... . could not find anything wrong or needing fixed.

Finding a 2006 with a 6-speed is a rare find, they didn't produce that many. Sounds like it has a few additions - brake, hitch, new tires a plus, and that mileage is truly low.



I bought my 2006 new, have had no problems with it, just a good running truck. Glad I bought it.

Just for the info... I paid just under 30,000 for mine two years ago with 31,500 miles on it. It is a srw. I bought mine from a chevy dealer.

That is not a bad buy. I was on the hunt last year for a friend of mine for 06 or early 07 SRW mega cab. It had to have all the options, Laramie, sunroof ect and less than 40K miles. It turned out to be a real hard truck to find. I ended having to buy it sight unseen and have it shipped across the country. He paid around $34,000 but the truck but it only had 22K miles. It seem a lot of guys are after the pre-07' emissions mega-cabs. Anyway, good find!

In NOV '10, I bought an '06 3500 Mega Cab SLT with 40K miles for $22k from an Arizona dealer. Has a Cummins Jake brake, it's not a dually or manual trans, but I'm still grinning every time I drive it.

I bought the truck from a friend who bought it with 21000 miles on it. I wanted to be fair to him and I... so we settled on the avg trade in value. It is a great truck... . ready to pull and work. The Mega Cab is awesome... . sun roof, leather heated seats... . I have had Lincoln's that were not as plush..... and best yet the wife loves it.
