has anyone tried to hook up a set of aftermarket driving lights to run off the high beam headlights. i am from Canada and therefore my truck has daytime running lights which means the high beam head lights are on any time the truck is running and the head lights are not turned on. this causes the problem that i have which is i want the driving lights to come on automatically with the high beams but not with the daytime running lights. any help would be appreciated

You can still hook them to the HB just install a switch to interupt the relay. I am looking at the same thing on my truck.

You sure? I always though daytimes were like 60% of your lowbeam power?

Yea I don't think your High Beams are being used in the daytime at all. I believe you would simply tap into the high beam wire at the headlight. Use that to fire the harness relay that comes with your aux lighting. Never hook up aux lights directly to another light. Aways use a relayed harness.

Actually the dealer can set day time running lights to work with either the low beam or high beam... I have the bright box from Genos and I burnt out one of these because my high beams were the day time running lights... I went into the dealer and had him switch the day time lights to low beam... BTW I'm in the USA... . and had the dealer switch on the running lights at purchase...
