I always carry a small tool kit in my truck. Just bought a new 06 3500 and I am wondering if it is all metric or mixed metric/ASE (ref nuts, bolts etc)?

Most of my truck is standard metric. :-laf

Fortunately, many of the common standard sizes are the same as metric (13=1/2, 14=9/16, etc. ).

Not quite when it matters. 12. 7 mm = 1/2 inch and 14. 3 mm = 9/16th.

The lug nuts are not metric, at least on my 04. 5. I think they're 15/16" of something like that.

i think so, the studs a 9/16"-18, unless they switch them to metric like gm with M14x1. 5... ?

the theory around the shop is if you used a standard (1/2, 9/16 etc... ) you have either screwed it up yourself, or someone ahead of you has screwed it up.

I think they got it right. There is always someone who will try to get by using what is at hand instead of what is right, they call it a monkey wrench but the monkey is on the other end. :) bg
