2006 auto wont shift past first gear?

Guys the 06 that was mine and I sold to my friend will not shift past 1st gear.

This happened all of a sudden. truck has like 36,XXX miles on it. Does have a smarty on it but he drives it like an old woman.



Any ideas?

It does have these codes stored:



1st code P0148 Fuel Delivery Error



2nd code P0602 Control Module Programming Error/NotProgrammed

Maybe bad ECM?? Lost it's programing?

A reflash might work, take the Smarty and return it to stock.

Shifting issues almost always have their root in the gov solenoid and/or transducer. Even in limp mode from some problems you should get drive with an unlocked TC. When they don't shift either its in gov pressure or a mechnaical malfunction.

Well it appears this is/was a fuel supply issue. We pulled the filter today and it was all goobered up with jelly looking stuff. It was actually flowing so little we think it was the reason the rail was not getting enough, which in turn made the engine run so weak it didnt have the balls to drive.

After swapping out the filter we cleared the codes and took it for a rip on the highway and it appears to be normal again. It smoked a little at first (black) but I figure the cat was loaded up from him driving it around with the smarty on like a old lady

After I was done giving it a test drive the cat was cleaned out and no smoke, and running normalOo.
