This years event was quite the happening as bright sunshine and no rain made for three spectacular days to enjoy some of the finest truck examples around. I seen no one had started a thread about it so here is some of my ramblings on what I seen... .

Friday dawned with bright sunshine and a look like the show was going to be alot smaller than in years gone past. It made for an easy decision for those of us there to wander through the parts & vendors areas and still had time to do other things we wanted. Lots of nice rides were seen but many more were to come on Saturday.

Saturday started with about the same lackluster look as Friday but it didn't last long. Long about 9am the field was filled to capacity and the sled pullers were called to the gate for competition. So while sled pulls were happeneing, monster truck rides were going on,the gang of us who paid to be judged finished our minor detailing work and awaited the judges. By about 1pm we had all been judged and had overworked our California Car Dusters(Thanks Travis,LOL)from all the flying soot and dust from the guys abusing the sled operator. Most of us embarked then onto showfield trips and walked our feet till they begged for mercy again. Scott and I did the unthinkable and do what I vowed to NOT do again after the Mopar show, walked up and down the hill to get some photo's of various deisels which were scattered everywhere. I also took some photo's of the more unique rides we seen and some with various graphics which were different. I have them all and after I sort out the duplicates I will post a link to a album for those who may have missed some of trucks themselves.

Sunday dawned and was about as laid back and yet still provided a bit of unrest for the judged until they laid out the tables with the awards posted. Of those of us who were in the judged competiton results brought two of our members some wood to take home. Taters smooth First Genner netted him a fine 3rd place award in 4x4 Dodge Truck Mild and my own shiny Second Genner netted me a fine 2nd place award in Dodge Truck 4x4 Mild class. WE checked and no other member scored but next year is going to be a goody. I even think Keith left with a fire to be more prepared to detail better.

All in all,the "All Truck Nationals 2006" was a huge success and when you see the two field shots I took from high up on the hill of how full the joint was,you will see what I mean. The only one thing I could complain about happened Saturday night after most had left and it involved a very poorly run Mini-Truck Body drag run down the big hill. It seems now the current trend of these guys and gals is to use a trailer hitch ball mounted under their rides when they drop their trucks down instead of skid pads like they used to use. Well thats all nice, but when not thought through very well they dropped their bags and the rears were off the ground skidding and causing them to slide towards the crowd, which was not behind any safety barriers. After seeing 3 trucks in a row about end up in the crowd I left and got no photo's of it at all. Next year will be alot of fun.

Here is a link to my Picasa Web Album of the trucks which Scott and I found while I wandered aimlessly all over saturday. I tried to take shots of diesels but did take some of the more interesting ones we both seen also... ... ... ... . Andy

Thanks Michael.....

I didn't even realize that and forgot to look. I will offer my humble apologies and then wonder if the judges were friggin blind as he should have done better than that.

Jesselee...

I wandered about the fairgrounds after I got judged and covered all I could find. The two areas I didn't get to were the pulling trucks as most were on their way out for other pulls(except for Travis as I had heard he broke and didn't figure he wanted a shot of his on a Intertrashional rollback) and the spectator parking out behind the swap meet area. If I missed ya,sorry dude but I wonder how you missed all of us in a line in the field too as I know since I am such a small framed guy I can be missed easily,LOL... ..... Andy

no big deal man i was across from the rock crawling expo on top of the hill. someday ill get to meet ya maybe at fall brawl or the truck pull in ohio in oct.

What's up with all the 20" + bling wheels on the 4X4's?

Hope the ricer look isn't catching on to the 4WD's.

And where are all the pics of some babes?
