My center console has a small tip out storage bin facing the back seats. The spring to hole it closed is either out of position or broken. How do I get the back panel of the console off?
We have essentially the same vehicle. I just went out to look at mine to find this compartment and don't seem to have one. Are you talking about the area where you would rest your right arm as you drive?
Mine is not showing in the diagrams. The truck is an automatic, with the center console running right from the dqshboard back to roughly even with the backs of the fron seats. The part of it between the seats has an upper hinged lid to open an approx 3" deep compartment. Below that is another catch release to raise that storage area and reveal a deeper storage area below. The tip out door I am referring to is on the vertical surface of the back panel of this assembly.
Ok, I think I found it in the FSM. It's referred to as a floor console and there are 2 types. PM me with your email and I will send you the FSM pages that apply to this. Your truck is different from mine, I have a fairly useless center "seat" that is formed by lifting the armrest/console.
