I have had my new 2006 Mega Cab 3 weeks now and just absolutely love it.

3500 diesel, laramie with all the bells and whistles.

One problem though; when I use either the left or right hand turn signals the

respective daytime running light goes out. Use the left signal and the left light

goes out;use the right signal and the right signal goes out. The dealer tells me

this is normal because the signals and the running lights use the same bulb.

But when I look at the truck from the front this isn't so, they are different.

I'm in Canada so we are stuck with daytime running lights but I have never

heard of anything like this being normal. Any of you other 'daytimers' had this

'normal' trouble ?

Thanks,

Brian

I have seen that the Dodge Magnum here in the US does that. The DRL is the high beam but the turn signal is mounted close enough that it would be hard to see with the DRL's on so the DRL on that side turns off while the turn signal is activated. I doubt the DRL is the same bulb as the turn signal, usually the DRL is the high beam running at reduced power.

I have seen this on other cars also. They don't use the same bulb but the head light goes out to make the turn signal more visible. Mike
