Hi guys,

I'm the orig owner of my 2006 3500 Megacab... ordered without the fog lights and I'm just now realizing I want them. I was under the truck and realized the wiring for the fog lights is in place already. My question is where does that wiring run to? Will I find an unused plug behind the dash near the headlight switch? Thanks!

I would assume that it is tied into your headlight switch. Mine has the fog lights from the factory, and if I push the round headlight switch, the fog lights turn on.

Thanks for the response. That's interesting, my headlight switch does not have that ability. Maybe I will just find the wiring behind my headlight switch!

I'd suggest buying the fog lights and installing them and then try your headlight switch to see if it will push in and out when your low beams are on. If it doesn't work then buy a new switch for a truck with fog light as the wiring is probably right there.

Thanks for the input guys. My stock headlight switch definitely does not have the push-pull action for the foglights. I ordered a new switch for about $45. I will post back when all the parts have arrived and been installed.

It's not push-pull, just touch when headlights or running lights are on. Won't come on when high beams are on. I put factory fog lights on a 99 and bought the kit from dealer, it came with all required stuff plus headlight switch.

When I bought my last 06 new It did not heave fog lights, I got the factory kit and from what I recall what just a new headlight switch, the lights and wiring for the bumper so very easy install.

Got all my parts in and just jumped under the truck to hook it up. To my surprise, I couldn't find a plug for the passenger side fog light. On closer inspection, maybe the plug on the drivers side isn't for a foglight at all. I have no idea what else this plug might be used for in this location. Anybody else?

That connector looks like the fog light connector to me. When I did my '03, I bought a factory fog light kit that came with the harness that goes over to the passenger side. No connector on that side.

In conclusion, I did not use the MOPAR wiring harness after all. I wired the fogs independently to a dash switch. I did not want them triggered by the low-beams, I prefer to switch them on-off at the time of my choosing! Thanks all for the input.

On the 3rd Gen's the factory fogs come on with the parking lamps, not the headlights.
