Lady friend of mine wants me to change the oil in her 06 Power Stroke. What filter brand would you recomend. Also any helpful hints or problems when changing the fuel filter. I think the scary part will be when I open the hood!

Thanks

I wouldn't do it if you're not familiar with those powerjokes. You do something wrong and you're the one that will be in deep p--- p---.

If it were me, I'd use the factory Ford filters. Ford relies heavily on egr. Their filters are designed for it. I'd use the Ford fuel filter too.

Talked to a mechanic at the local Kenworth shop and he said to just fill the fuel canister and make sure the O ring is seated properly. Pretty much the same as ours. My only concern was air in the lines. Would not even know where to start at bleeding the injectors. Was thinking of getting the filters at the Dealership but got the Fleet Guards anyway. She had me bring back her small toy hauler from out of town and I must say the truck did tow very nice.

6. 0s are easy to service. Buy the Motorcraft filters. There shouldn't be any prefilling required. Just install the new elements, add oil, and go.

Or, you could just wait until it tears up and let the dealer service it along with the repair. Based on my prior experience, this method will save you the hassle without exceeding the recomended interval by more than just a little.

Now that FUNNY right there... I don't care who ya are...

I dont know about the 6. 0, but on my in laws 7. 3l, I always filled the fuel filter cansiter with 2 stroke oil. Didn't have to twist on it quite so long to get it fired back up.
