My friend's daughter has this Commander, and it has been giving them fits. After running a while(time varies)the HVAC will quit, along with the compass, the air bag light, and the back-up assist. Until today, he could disconnect the battery a while and it would "reset", so to speak. So far today the reset procedure has even failed. NEVER throws a code of any kind. Three dealers have looked at it, and the BCM has been replaced. I told him I would post it here in hopes of somebody having an idea/direction to pursue.

My sister has a 2009 and has had similar problems.

My guess would be a wiring issue either in the harness to the BCM or a ground issue somewhere in that path.

I just traded my 08 Commander. Lots of similar problems. The dash looked like Christmas time with all of the lights. I wish I could help, but it stumped me, I never fixed one problem on it, but did put a lot of money into it. Most expensive vehicle to run I ever owned. Good luck!

Very disappointing. From what I have read/heard these things are a nightmare.

Maybe Sag2 or Bob4x4 will swoop in with a miracle!!! LOL

UPDATE: Well, after countless hours of chasing and opening looms, checking pins and re-making connections, my friend is cautiously optimistic that he got it rectified. The harness beneath the PDC had been zip tied excessively tight. It was like a banjo string. After doing the above, and finding some slack, it has now gone for several hours without failing.
