2006 odometer stoppage

The odometer on my 2006, 3500 single wheel Mega Cab stopped at 533752 miles. I have been told that the only option is to reset the existing odometer to 0 and start over. I have been estimating mileage by fuel usage which has averaged 15.5 mpg since new to keep track of necessary maintenance events.


Does anyone know a better answer? I would like to have the odometer working showing the known mileage plus the additional estimated miles since failure.

Have you checked the speed sensor in the diff?

I have the truck at a respected shop that I have used for years. They said the speed sensor is good.

You say the Speedo works but the Odo does not? Is that correct?

Does your shop have access to wiTech or a DRB III unit?
