2006 ram 3500 ac issue

Okay so I had my ac compressor, condenser, oriface tube, and fan clutch replaced. Over $2,500 in parts and labor. My ac blew cold for a little while now it just blows hot. Any ideas what it could be? Won’t be bringing to any shop ever again due to the fact of seeing them doing a burnout out of the shop while I was across the street.

If its not something the shop screwed up, chances are, after they unhooked their gauges from your system enough refrigerant leaked out of the system and its now blowing out hot. Is the compressor engaging?
With the gauges and vacuum pump hooked up everything will look good, after they unhook, refrigerant can leak out of bad Schrader valves. I would take it back to the shop and have them check it out, and have a discussion with the manager about witnessing a employee doing a burnout.
I had new tires installed on my truck several years ago and the dumb shop manager did the same thing with my truck. He wasn't so cocky after I released his throat.

Take a good look at all the lines and ac components under the hood for any oil like residue. May be an indication of what was leaking. What was your original issue? I see a lot of shops that their way to repair an ac problem is to replace compressor and orifice tube.

The compressor is engaging. I actually had an issue before the fan clutch was replaced where the pressure would get too high because the fan didn’t engage and it blew out the side of my condensor. Replaced fan clutch and the condensor and it randomly blew all of the pressure out of the relief valve as soon as I started the truck, turned the ac on high, and put it in reverse. They couldn’t replicate the same problem. Recharged it, it went away, and I noticed the leak dye in the Freon leaking from the valve. Maybe the valve is shot from multiple blowouts and it leaked it all out?

The compressor insides were gone and the oriface tube was clogged with metal and sludge. Ac compressor wouldn’t engage so I knew it was the clutch coil and i figured the tipm took a **** like a lot of the other 3rd gens and I hardwired it past the tipm but still have it to where it cycles on and off to regulate pressure and it didn’t even cool it at all. Took it to the shop they replaced multiple things and it blew ice cold up until it didn’t. It was winter at the time and I was fed up with repair shops so I didn’t even care at that point. Read my reply above. I think I have a Freon leak from the relief valve.

If you suspect the valve, you can check with soapy water if there is no residue on it. If you refuse to take it back you better invest in some gauges and leak detection dye.
If my truck could do a burn out I would be more proud than pissed. After all, if it can why not.
