Sorry to get your hopes up with the title, but isn't today the NAIAS in Detroit where Dodge will be showing the 2006 models? I imagine pictures will be online by tonight.

On a side note I've always wondered what happened to www.car-truck.com. I think that was the name of the website. They covered Dodge news and spy shots, etc.

Only production 06s you'll see at NAIAS are the Charger amd possibly the Magnum SRT8 with the 6. 1 Hemi. Dodge has held redesigned Rams until Chicago in February, and I don't know if the freshening scheduled for MY06 is enough to merit a major introduction. The MegaCab may be held off to an independent event like the Power Wagon (a DC press event in June 04, not any auto show).

Ram sales were down for calendar 04 (426,289 in 2004 vs 449,371 in 2003, 5% loss on a daily sales basis). The increased fuel prices and the redesigned Fords (939,511 in 04 vs 845,586 in 03, up 11. 1%) hurt a bit, although availability of the Cummins 600/610 in emissions states kept things from tanking even more. Dodge/DC will have to generate some interest to get numbers of their highest seller back on the upswing. If Cummins is ready with the 6. 7L ISBe and DC is ready with the MegaCab, 5-speed HD automatic, and possibly the rumored 7. 7L Hemi V10 (a 6. 1 with 2 more cylinders), then they can show some gain in the HD market. Don't know if the freshening alone will be enough for the 1500 though.

Car & Truck News was a fatality of the Colorado blizzards at the time of its demise (the site creator was in Denver). Several feet of snow hit the area and it's likely that "Buzz" probably suffered losses that made the site no longer the info bible it had become.

The NAIAS starts jan 17 thru 23. My buddy is a product design eng. for crysler in chelsea michigan(proving grounds). He tells me that the 2006 Ram will be at the auto show. He said that cummins is going to be building a bigger engine soon to put into the ram trucks. Guess we will wait & see. coobie Oo.

I had the feeling that "Buzz" worked for DC. He had too many scoops that turned out to be true to just be some guy on the outside that knew a bunch of people within DC. I think the heat got too hot, and he shut it down.
