Ok I have searched high and low in the forums for an answer and have had no luck. Every once in a while when I go to start my truck it attempts to turn over and then stops. I then notice that the square that illuminates around the P on the instrument cluster dissappeared. Therefore it appears that the truck is out of gear. I then can jiggle the gear selector and the square light comes back then when I try to start it it is gone again. eventually I am able to get the truck started after playing this game of running the gear selector through the gears and back to park. Has anyone else had this issue? Are there any solutions to this like a bad transmission range selector or gear selector cable ends? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Probably need to adjust the shifter cable a little. The cable adjustment is behind the knee bolster under the steering column. Its a simple lock tab system that lengthens\shortens the housing to adjust throw.

Make sure all battery connections are clean and tight. If you have some extra resistance in the battery cables it offsets the ground circuit. Neutral safety switch uses a ground circuit, and if the voltage does not stay at zero (ground offset), it thinks it is out of gear and the TIPM shuts down the starter relay.
Back probe the T41 circuit when it happens. The voltage should stay at zero in park or neutral, 12v when not. If you crank and it stops and the voltage is above 1. 5v while cranking you found the problem. Bad ground or high resistance in the ground or T41, or bad NSS.
