2007 won't start, 6-speed 4x4. Truck has 12v power, no crank no nothing! We thought it was the electric key, because it wouldn't operate the keyless entry, the alarm, or start the truck. Replaced the battery in the key with no change.

Clutch switch ,starter relay or starter solenoid contacts.

Pull the starter relay put a jumper wire between the hot terminal and terminal opposite of the hot one, remove jumper wire when engine comes to life. (Key needs to be in run postion).

This should get you going so you can get it to a shop or dealer.

My '06 did that one afternoon while my wife and I were in the big Gaylord Auditorium in Nashville. Everything was normal when we parked and locked the truck to go inside, but the truck ignored the ignition key when we returned.

I sat there puzzled for a couple minutes thinking about it and not knowing anything else to do got out and removed the negative battery cables from both batteries. I left them off for five minutes then reinstalled them, started it, and drove away.

I can't explain it but guess something confused a computer. Removing the battery cables allowed some electronic device to reset.

Try it and let us know if it works.

Thanks guys, We will try the battery cable thing, because we are in a hotel parking lot, on vacation, I am limited on what I can do.

Just a little info try removing the iod fuse if this happens again Lift the white fuse holder in the pdc up (it won't come out) for 10 seconds with the keys out of the ignition when the fuse is pushed back down it should start

The battery trick worked! Thanks for the information guys. We will have the truck looked at when we get back.

Not sure if its the same or not, but my dads 06 did this. It was the TIPM going out. I guess there is a wire on the 06's (not 100% sure of 07 or not) that can rub bare and ground out, frying the TIPM. The service doc on it (not sure if its a TSB or not) says that if un-plugging the batteries fixes the condition then the TIPM needs to be replaced. The first dealership my dad took it to just did the battery thing and called it a fluke and sent him on his way, to have the truck not start 4 weeks later at a fuel station in BFE... the local (90 miles) dealership fixed it, and had some choice words for the first dealership. . since its in writing from Dodge about disconnecting the batteries.
