Lost my original clutch at 50K, Dodge replaced with new DD "mercedes" clutch. My question is- were improvements made or should I expect to replace another clutch in the future. I pull a light 5th wheel, have a Diablo Sport PP that I turn OFF when pulling, aFe filter, and exhaust... ... With that being said- I would appreciate any thoughts.

first off your g56 is a mercedes trans, second they didn't put a dual disk its a dual mass flywheel and most likely they got rid of it, the truck most likely came stock with the dual mass and I think they started getting away from them but I can't remember if they went back to a regular flywheel

He probably means the new DMF clutch; there is no factory dual disc clutch. Theres a TSB on clutches for the G56 made in the late 2006MY and early 2007MY having premature failures due to the self adjuster mechanism breaking.

Thanks for the replies---yes DMF not DD (that's why I'm selling medical and not fixing dodge's-Ha!) Anyway- As far as warranty- I got a little help from my dealer and none from Dodge. The truck is truly a road truck and pulls my 28 foot camper 3-4x per summer-so pretty easy life for the cummins. I heard about the TSB prior to taking the truck in for the slip. Have they made improvements in the way the clutch is put together i. e. self adjuster etc. ?

Thanks for helping a diesel rookie!
